Throughout September 15 to October 15, we get together to observe Raza Heritage Month. During this time, the CSUN University Library honors the lived experiences and cultural history of those with ancestries from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. For our 2024 observation, we have put the spotlight on Queer Latin(x) authors, narratives and scholarship. Our University Library is proud to commemorate the many contributions of LGBTQIA+ Latinx Americans, particularly within education, literature, art, activism, and groundbreaking research and discoveries.

Join us for a day of festivities to Celebrate Nuestra Gente, Raises y Cultura as one of the last programs for this year’s Heritage Month celebration.Come experience a low rider car show featuring over 20 classic cars The DJ will be spinning the best in salsa, bachata, cumbias, reggaeton y mas Live Mariachi and our own CSUN Latin Jazz Ensemble Performances from Ballet Folklorico and Salsa Lessons Food Trucks Community Resources And activities for all ages  If you are a student who needs interpreting services, please contact Michael Clemens at Michael.clemens@csun.edu at least 3 days prior to the event.   The event is sponsored by CSUN; including Athletics, Central American & Transborder Studies, Chicano/a Studies, Division of Student Affairs, EOP, Matador Eats, Office of Student Success, and the University Student Union.
