CSUN Unveils State-Of-The-Art Video Scoreboard at Matador Field
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - It is exciting times for CSUN Baseball, as it unveils the installation of a new state-of-the-art Daktronics Videoboard located just beyond the right field wall. The video board goes live this week, ensuring the next time you root on your Matador Baseball team in person you will experience the stunning new addition.
The video board, along with other recent upgrades, represent significant progress in CSUN's Field of Dreams Baseball Project. CSUN Athletics has embarked on a $27 million multi-phase capital project as part of its commitment to keeping CSUN Baseball at the top of the Big West.
"We are looking forward to the replacement of our old scoreboard," said head coach Eddie Cornejo. "The new video board enhances our gameday production and allows our fans a better experience at the ballpark."
With CSUN Baseball posting its best record in 21 years in 2023, and once again competing for a Big West championship in 2024, CSUN Athletics has been hard at work enhancing Baseball's facilities. The state-of-the-art playing surface, which is now among the best on the West Coast, was followed by other enhancements to improve the student-athlete experience. Those included enhanced audio, along with upgrades to the team clubhouse, including new carpeting, lockers, seating, painting, branding.
"We are committed to providing a championship caliber experience to our Baseball student-athletes," Director of Athletics Shawn Chin-Farrell said. "The support of our campus leadership, alumni like Irv Zakheim, and our Valley Community are vital to realizing the Field of Dreams. The next step is bringing lights to the park to provide our community, importantly our youth baseball community, greater access to Matador Baseball."
