Important Dates: Finals and Commencement 2025

The end of the year is a flurry of finals, finishing projects and, for many, planning all the parties, pictures and pomp of Commencement season. Breathe and relax, Matadors. CSUN Newsroom is here to lend a hand and help you stay on top of important dates.
For all CSUN students, the Student Academic Calendar is your guide. Here’s a roundup of some key dates:
May 3-4: Last weekend classes
May 9: Last day of formal instruction
May 10-16: Final Exams
May 5-7 and May 12-15: Finals Activities including Crunch Time in the USU
May 10: Honors Convocation
May 16-19: Commencement ceremonies
May 23: Last day of spring semester and the academic year
May 26: Memorial Day holiday – campus is closed.
May 27: Summer Term begins.

PRE-ORDERED Caps, Gowns & Regalia pickup:
May 5-16: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Students who PRE-ORDERED regalia online prior to March 23 will be able to pick up their rental orders at the Campus Store.
Caps, Gowns & Regalia Rentals (NOT PRE-ORDERED):
May 6-16: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. For students who DID NOT PRE-ORDER online, regalia will be available for rental and pickup at the Campus Store.
Commencement and Honors Convocation Tickets: For information, visit the ticketing information page.
May 10: Honors Convocation:
6 p.m., University Library Lawn. Tickets required.
May 16-19: Commencement Ceremonies:
The Commencement ceremonies page includes dates and times of ceremonies by college, as well as numerous cultural celebrations, such as Black Graduation, Rainbow Graduation, Veteran Graduation, Undocu-Graduation, and hooding ceremonies for master’s and doctoral graduates.
