Angie Ned named head coach of CSUN women’s basketball
CSUN Athletic Director Shawn Chin-Farrell has announced that Angie Ned will be the next head coach for the women’s basketball team.
Ned comes to Northridge from California Baptist University, where she served as the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for nine seasons. While on staff at CBU, the Lancers amassed a record of 230-80 and won two conference championships in the Western Athletic Conference.
In between stints at CBU, Ned spent the 2014-15 season as the Director of Basketball Operations at UC Irvine, her alma mater.
She returns back to the Big West, a conference she called home for many years.
Prior to coaching, Ned was a standout player at Irvine. She was a three time All-Big West selection and was the first player to win the Big West Defensive Player of the Year award twice in her career.
She will replace Carlene Mitchell, who departed after the team lost 26 straight games this season.
Ned becomes the fifteenth head coach in the history of the CSUN women’s basketball program.
