CRIME REPORT: Multiple vehicle thefts near Extended University Commons
Below are the crime logs provided by the CSUN Department of Police Services for the week of Sept. 21 to Sept. 28.
Sunday, Sept. 21
These crime logs were reported on Sept. 21; the dates of the actual crimes are included if needed for clarity.
Between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 20, a secured electric scooter was reportedly stolen by an unknown suspect at Redwood Hall.
Monday, Sept. 22
These crime logs were reported on Sept. 22; the dates of the actual crimes are included if needed for clarity.
At 1:09 p.m., a subject with an outstanding warrant was arrested by CSUN officers.
At 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 21, a parked vehicle was reportedly hit by an unknown suspect’s vehicle. The collision was not reported by the suspect, who left the scene.
Between 1:10 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. on Sept. 21, an electric cart was reportedly stolen and the ignition switches on two other carts were damaged by an unknown suspect.
Tuesday, Sept. 23
These crime logs were reported on Sept. 23; the dates of the actual crimes are included if needed for clarity.
A black pen was used by an unknown suspect to write graffiti on a chair in Jerome Richfield Hall.
Between 2:00 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., a secured electric scooter was stolen by an unknown suspect at Chaparral Hall.
On Sept. 22 between 9:40 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., a secured electric scooter was stolen by an unknown suspect at the Student Recreation Center.
Wednesday, Sept. 24
At 2:03 p.m., an electric scooter was reportedly stolen near the Campus Store Complex. The scooter was recovered, and the suspect was arrested by CSUN officers.
At 11:26 a.m., the campus CCTV system captured an unknown male suspect stealing an electric scooter at the Extended University Commons.
Between 12 a.m. and 12 p.m., a secured electric scooter was reportedly stolen at building five of the University Park Apartments.
Between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., a secured bicycle was reportedly stolen by an unknown suspect at the Extended University Commons.
Between 5:35 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., a secured electric scooter was reportedly stolen by an unknown suspect at Live Oak Hall.
Thursday, Sept. 25
Between 9:30 a.m. and 10:20 a.m., a secured electric bicycle was reportedly stolen by an unknown suspect at the Extended University Commons.
Friday, Sept. 26
At 5:30 p.m., a victim was sexually assaulted by an unknown suspect on Nordhoff Street near the Orange Grove. The suspect was described as a white male, between 5’10” and 6’ tall, with skin discoloration near his nose. A campus-wide email was sent by CSUN Alert regarding the incident.
Saturday, Sept. 27
